Mr. Rodriguez was born in Kingsville, Texas, on March 5, 1951. He comes from a hard working family with long roots in South Texas – his father was a master bricklayer; his mother was a secretary to the local small town doctor. After becoming an Eagle Scout and being involved in numerous school activities, he finished number two in his class at Bishop High School.

He attended Texas A&M University, was a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Ross Volunteers, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (summa cum laude, 1973). While serving in the United States Air Force in San Antonio, he received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1977. He graduated from the University of Texas Law School in 1980 and was admitted as a member of the State Bar in the same year. He has been admitted to practice law before the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Courts (Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas). He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law, Texas Board of Legal Specialization (1985). Mr. Rodriguez is a member of the following fraternities: Phi Eta Sigma; Chi Epsilon; Tau Beta Pi; Phi Kappa Phi; Phi Delta Phi. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Law Review Award, Texas Bar Foundation, 1997, after co-authoring, with Barbara Hanson Nellermoe, an article titled “Professional Responsibility and the Litigator: A Comprehensive Guide to Texas Disciplinary Rules 3.01 Through 4.04,” 28 St. Mary’s Law Journal 2 (1997). He is a member of the following organizations: San Antonio Bar Association (President, 1994-95); American Bar Association; State Bar of Texas, Mexican-American Bar Association; San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association (President, 1992); Texas Trial Lawyers Association (Director); American Association for Justice; American Board of Trial Advocates (1989). He served as a Board Member of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization from 1998 to 2004. Mr. Rodriguez is “AV” rated by Martindale Hubble – the highest rating a lawyer can achieve.

In March 2001, he was inducted as a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Rodriguez has been married to Anabel since 1984 and is the proud parent of two sons and one daughter. Primary languages for Mr. Rodriguez are English and Spanish.
